Heute Backmarathon/ Baking marathon

Weil morgen ich dran bin die Kaffeestunde zu catern. Also habe ich eine Ferrero-Rocher-Torte gebacken, die mehr oder MINDER gelungen ist. Also ich habe dem Rezept genau Folge geleistet, und trotzdem war der Boden etwas höher und unförmiger als erwartet und die Sahne/Rocher-Mischung viel geringer als erwartet. Daher sieht mein Kuchen in keinster Weise so aus wie hier. Zweitens habe ich auch noch einen Eierlikörkuchen gebacken, der aber sehr schön geworden ist, zum Ausgleich.

So hatte ich heute echt einiges auf dem Plan: Erst mal einkaufen fürs Gebacke, dann letzte Hand an morgiges Referat legen, zwischendurch rühren, abbacken, rühren abbacken, rühren, Rocher zermatschen mit Sahne vermischen etc. Ich hoffe der Kuchen kommt trotzdem an, morschen, na schaumermal.

Dann weiterhin letzte Hand ans Referat... Hab dann am Handout gebastelt, mit allen möglichen Infos. Da ich zwei Gedichte explizieren werde, hab ich lange überlegt wie ich das Handout-mäßig mache und kam dann schließlich auf mind-mapping, um es optisch überschaubar zu machen und ich meine es ist recht gut gelungen. Mal sehen, ob man mir morgen auch zustimmt.

Also erst mal ein mindmapping program als freeware gesucht und runtergeladen und installiert.

Zwischendurch waren dann noch mal alle Bookmarks aus meinem Firefox verschwunden und ich bin fast wahnsinnig geworden, ehe ich herausfand, dass es
a-tens mindestens 5 backups davon gibt
b-tens ich diese aufgespürt hatte
c-tens herausgefunden hatte wie man die blöden Dinger wieder in den Firefox importiert
d-tens auch noch die bookmarks toolbar wieder füllt.

So war ich jedenfalls von morgens um 8 bis abends um 6 gut beschäftigt.

Tomorrow I have to cater the Kaffestunde again, so I was baking up a storm with a Ferrero Rocher Torte and a Eggnogg cake (German eggnogg, non-spiced). The former turned out more or LESS ok. Even though I followed the recipe to a T, it did not turn out like here at all, unfortunately. The cake-part too high, the cream part to little. But the eggnogg cake turned out perfectly (lots of experience there, too).

So I was a busy little beaver today. Shopping for ingredients, finishing up a presentation, whipping up the doughs, baking the cake, whipping up some more dough, baking another cake, finishing touches on the presentation, whipping up cream, mashing up ferreros, putting the stuff on the cake, finishing touches on the presentation. You see, where this is going. I hope they will like the cake tomorrow.

Then I was working on handouts with all kinds of information. Since I had to explicate two poems, too, I decided to mindmap the handouts for that in order to make it optically attractive. I think they turned out well, hope they will agree with me tomorrow.

So first I had to find a freeware mindmapping program, download and install it. Then all of a sudden, all my bookmarks in firefox were gone. I was going bananas trying to

a) find out if there are back-ups
b) find them
c) find out how to re-import them into firefox
d) find out how get the bookmark-toolbar back up

And thus I was on the go from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
